The Hwasong-7 is a intermediate-range ballistic missile developed by North Korea sometimes referred to as the Nodong-1. The technology has been exported to foreign nations in secrecy on the basis of mutual exchange of technologies, with Iran being one of the largest beneficiaries of such technology. Successful variants were tested and deployed by Iran after developing the Shahab-3 which is roughly based on Hwasong-7. The missile system was first publicly unveiled in the early 1990s and is believed to have been derived from Soviet-era Scud missile technology.

A few Hwasong-7 missiles were launched in the 2006 North Korean missile test, and a further two in a 2014 test over a range of 650 km. North Korea is believed to possess some 300 Hwasong-7 missiles and around 50 mobile launchers.

Payload: It is estimated to have a payload capacity of approximately 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds), which could potentially allow it to carry a nuclear warhead.

Range: The Hwasong-7 has an estimated range of around 1,000 to 1,300 kilometers (620 to 810 miles). This makes it an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM).

Design: The Hwasong-7 is a single-stage, liquid-fuelled missile. It is around 16 meters (52 feet) in length and has a diameter of about 1.25 meters (4.1 feet).

Technology: The Hwasong-7 is based on the Soviet Scud missile technology. It is believed to use hypergolic propellants, which are chemicals that ignite spontaneously upon contact, eliminating the need for external ignition sources.

This vehicle blueprint is a fully rigged structure, with various animated components such as missile elevation, and opening hatches. Additionally, it comes with a detailed damage model that includes damaged geometry, textures, and realistic fire and smoke effects. The blueprint also features dynamic dust effects generated by the movement of the wheels.

The asset is designed as a standard Unreal vehicle with an interior, but it can be customized to suit specific project requirements. It is fully drivable, utilizing physics simulations provided by Epic Games’ Chaos Vehicles plugin. Please note that the Chaos Vehicles plugin must be enabled for proper vehicle movement. The scene incorporates Epic Games’ Volumetrics plugin for environmental clouds and utilizes Lumen for advanced lighting effects.

A sample showcase/demo Blueprint is included with an environment map and a user interface (UI). When you “Play” the map, the UI provides camera presets, sliders, and buttons to showcase the key functionalities of the vehicle.

Disclaimer:

This asset includes the use of Epic Games’ Volumetrics plugin and Chaos Vehicles system plugin for demonstration purposes only. However, the vehicle asset can be utilized and modified in personal projects without these plugins enabled.

The Volumetrics plugin is employed to create and render the environmental clouds within the scene, utilizing its volume creation and rendering tools. The Chaos Vehicles system plugin allows for realistic vehicle movement by utilizing advanced physics simulations.

  2. Thanks for the models, all are great for populating or learning as I am a simple hobbyist learning unreal engine. I have been spending a lot of time using a top view 2d engine but need to do something in 3d for a change.
