The USS Lake Erie (CG-70) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser in the United States Navy. The Ticonderoga-class cruisers are multi-role warships designed to provide air defense for naval task forces and serve as a powerful surface combatant in various missions.

Here are some key points about the USS Lake Erie and the Ticonderoga-class cruisers:

The Ticonderoga-class cruisers are equipped with the Aegis Combat System, a highly advanced and automated system for missile and air defense.

These cruisers are armed with a variety of missiles, including the Standard Missile (SM), Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM), and various anti-ship and anti-submarine missiles.

They have a 5-inch (127 mm) naval gun for surface targets and close-in defense.

The cruisers have the capability to operate and maintain helicopters, typically the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk for anti-submarine warfare.

Ticonderoga-class cruisers are versatile and can perform a range of missions, including:

Provide extended air defense for naval task forces. Conduct ballistic missile defense operations. Engage surface targets with both missiles and guns. Employ helicopters and other means to detect and counter submarines.

The USS Lake Erie, like other ships in its class, plays a crucial role in the U.S. Navy’s overall maritime strategy and contributes to the nation’s defense capabilities.

The vehicle is ready for import into your DIS/HLA (RPR FOM) simulation projects. As such, it is not set up as a traditional Unreal asset with an interior but can be modified as needed to suit your purpose.

  3. Thanks for the models, all are great for populating or learning as I am a simple hobbyist learning unreal engine. I have been spending a lot of time using a top view 2d engine but need to do something in 3d for a change.
